Continental Apartments, 2017
Housing

Continental Apartments is located in the very heart of Stockholm at the corner of Vasagatan and Klarabergsgatan – directly opposite the central train station. The commission involved designing the layouts and interiors for the eighteen premium apartments on the four highest floors of the new building by 3XN Architects that includes a new subway and commuter train station and hotel on the lower levels.

The central and elevated location in the city gives the project unrivaled opportunities. Where possible, living spaces are located on the corner of the building to exploit the light and panoramic views over the centre of Stockholm. Each apartment has either a glazed balcony or winter garden with motor-driven sliding glass roof. Almost half of the apartments have generous private roof gardens on the eleventh floor. There is also a generous terrace that is accessible to all residents.

The interior concept blends Scandinavian and international influences where strong importance is placed on quality, detailing and craftsmanship. For example, custom cabinetry in kitchens, closets and bathrooms is sourced from Swedish manufacturers but with carefully selected veneers and laminates from Italy and Austria.

The four hundred square metre penthouse includes a private swimming pool with spa area and two winter gardens with sliding glass roofs. It holds the record for the most expensive apartment ever sold in Sweden.
